Introduction

My name is Muhammad Firdaus bin Hasrin and my partner name is Mohamad Amirul Haziq bin Mohamed Ismi. We are student of University Kuala Lumpur British Malaysian Institute (BMI) course in Diploma of Engineering Technology in Electrical and Electronic.  Basically this blog is about our  logbook/progress report  on our Final Year Project. All the works or research that we've made will be updated in this blog.  Thank you for visiting our blog.

Week 1

Date: 31/07/2017 (Thursday) Title: Selecting a supervisor I decided to follow my friend (Amirul Haziq) to search for lecturers that are still available to be the supervisor for FYP.  So we went to meet one lecturer which is Sir Azlan bin Abu. Sir Azlan is the Head of Section of the Electronic Engineering Technology Section.  Sir Azlan showed us the tittles that can be taken under his supervision. I was interested in one of the title which is “ Backup Power Controlling Systems using Internet of Things ”.  Sir Azlan suggested for me to do some research first before confirming to take the title. Information about Sir Azlan Date:   02 – 04/08/2017 (Wednesday to Friday) Title: Surveying Topics After the meeting with Sir Azlan, I made some basic research about the tittle. I felt that with enough research and knowledge, I can complete this project. Sir Azlan would be a great supervisor based on his wide knowledge about engineering.

Week 2

Date: 11/08/2017 (Friday) Title: FYP Briefing The first week basically is about the briefing of the FYP. The briefing was conducted in TTL 2 and the attendance of all the student that are taking the FYP was compulsory. The briefing was conducted by Madam Zarith Liyana and Madam Marwangi. In the briefing, the FYP committees have briefed us about : ·           Introduction ·           Objectives ·           Credits and duration ·           Scope of projects ·           Title selection ·           Project Assessment ·           Presentation day ·           Submission date of project The students were required to carefully select the title of the project. For degree students, the title must reflect the capability and knowledge of a degree student. Students may select the titles that are offered by lecturers (FYP supervisors) or come out with own ideas. Week 3

Date: 23/09/2013 (Monday) Title: Project titles confirmation After much thinking and researching, I have decided to take Sir Azlan’s title. After meeting with him and discussing, some amendments have to do to the title. Sir Azlan suggested to add Internet of Thing to my project. He also suggested that the system can be used for factory and home usage. After meeting, Sir Azlan asked me to come out with my own synopsis for the project to be placed on the FYP website. The new title for the project : Backup Power Controling System using Internet of thing The synopsis of the project : "Backup Power Controlling Syestem using Internet of Thing". This project is mainly focusing to the building or area that supplies electricity . Date: 21-25/08/2017 (Monday-Friday) Title: Do some research about the project The Importance of Electricity by Carolyn Enderson. Week 5

Date: 30/08/2017 (Wednesday) Title: Registering project title In this week, Sir Azlan registered me and my partner name and the title of the project under his supervision on the FYP website. I should be able to check the application status online once the supervisor approved my application. We'are now officially under the supervision of Sir Azlan for my FYP. As my supervisor, Sir Azlan will guide me in the project; recommend approaches, techniques and methods appropriate to achieve the project’s objectives. Objective To give best suitable project's title to supervisor Conclusions At the end of discussion with supervisor, our supervisor agreed to choose "Development of Backup Power Controlling System using Internet of Things" as our project title. Then my partner and i can proceed to the next step.

Block Diagram Figure shows the Block Diagram of the project Explanation about Block Diagram From the block diagram shown, the program begins with the electrical supply from TNB (Tenaga Nasional Berhad) like normal. At the point the electrical supply will flow to the load DB which is set at home. The Arduino circuit will identify the electrical supply flow from the TNB with IOT (Internet of Thing) framework utilizing remote system.
